Join Bowmore in Supporting Capes for Kids!

Bowmore is Feeling Generous!

Holland Bloorview Kids Rehab Hospital believes in a world where all children belong and provides services to several Bowmore students. Since a number of classes (and families) at the school are thinking deeply about inclusion and accessibility, their Capes for Kids fundraiser seemed like a great cause to get behind.

Our Bowmore School Team has already begun fundraising and we could use your help! Go to Capes for Kids and register as a fundraiser. If you are able to raise $50 then your child will have a cape sent to them! We’ll be wearing our capes March 6th to 13th during Capes Week! If you aren’t looking for a cape you can simply make a donation to the Bowmore School Team. We’re already in 4th place and we’d love to get even higher!

We think this is a great fundraiser and a way to bring our community together for a wonderful cause. If you have any questions please email graham.seater@tdsb.on.ca or check out the below instructions. Register today!

Classroom Reps…

In another attempt to make sure as many caregivers as possible have all of the information about the goings on of our school, we are hoping to introduce the concept of classroom reps.

With a minimum of one parent/caregiver volunteer per room we can ensure that all pertinent news about the school makes to as many stakeholders as possible… the workload will be light - just passing along a few key messages via existing channels (or coordinating with teachers to send out the few key messages as needed).

Please send a message to bowmoresc@gmail.com if you’re interested in participating.

Caregiver Feedback Form

We are introducing a new “Caregiver Connection Form” hosted here on the School Council website.

It’s a fast, easy way to get in touch with us with a few clicks of a button.

Have a question? Have a concern? Want to send thanks to faculty and staff? The good, the bad, the excellent - we want to hear from you.

Your responses are confidential and will only be viewed by School Council Executive for the purposes of supporting community engagement.

On larger school related issues, understanding more about patterns and keeping good records can help us get the resourcing and attention the school may need. We’ll do our best to work with administration and other stakeholders to get issues brought to light.

Please remember, any urgent or sensitive concerns should be reported directly to the administration or TDSB in accordance with board policies.

Access the form here.

Carnival Parent Volunteers Needed!

Bowmore’s Carnival is Thursday, September 25th from 4-7pm. Rain or shine!

*** WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS ***

This is our biggest community gathering and fundraiser of the year and we still need volunteers to make this a success. We need more parent volunteers (we have a lot of students) so we can run ALL of the inflatables. If we don’t have enough parent volunteers, we will have to cancel some of the inflatables.

If you can commit to one hour (or more!) between 2pm and 8pm it would make all the difference. Please reach out to bowmorecarnival@gmail.com with your availability.

A quick reminder that pre-purchasing for Carnival tickets will close on Sunday, September 21 at 11:59 PM.

After that time, tickets will only be available for purchase at the event. Pre-ordering is the best way to avoid lines and make sure your family is ready for all the fun! You can purchase tickets through cashonline here!

Thank you for your support!
